Tickets are still available for author Cynthia Rogerson's talk at the Ceilidh Place in Ullapool. The event takes place on Saturday, March 25, from 8pm, will see Rogerson read from her memoir long–listed for the Highland Book Prize, 'WAH! – Things I Never Told My Mother'. The memoir follows Cynthia taking care of her dying mother, where she spends her time at her bedside recalling her youthful adventures: living in a squat, train–hopping, hitchhiking, and all the other things she never told her mother.

Ullapool Village Hall is hosting a local artisan market from 10am to 3pm on Saturday (March 25). The market offers handmade goods from a range of small local buisinesses. The market has previously featured soups, cakes and teas from Ullapool Museum and Ullapool Fairtrade group. The different stalls will offer unique textiles, pottery, woodcrafts, painted gifts, original artwork, and craft gin.

Also happening in Ullapool this Saturday is Create Youth Theatre's production of Alice in Wonderland. The long–awaited performance was interrupted by the Covid–19 pandemic, but the students are so excited to be finally bring their show to life. The performance is for one night, and tickets are in limited supply. The show is taking place at the MacPhail Theatre in Ullapool from 7pm. Tickets are £7 for adults and £5 for under 16's, avaliable to purchase from the Ceilidh Place reception, or ring organizer Sot Otter on 07835 288186.

An Evanton Initiatives Showcase and Market Event running from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday (March 26) promises to be another joyful and colourful community celebration of the enterprising village.

Community development officer Gabrielle Buist said of a trailblazing event last year: "Several initiatives are telling me how this event has helped their confidence and 'product' to grow and flourish.We will also be opening the doors to our newly renovated anteroom, thanks to Scottish Government funding. Young buskers will be providing music throughout the afternoon."

The Ross-shire and Sutherland Federation SWI stages its 2023 Bulb Show in Dingwall on Saturday.

The March 25 event will be hosted by St Clement's Church Hall with doors opening at 1.30pm.

Handicraft show at Dingwall Legion is cause for celebration

Entry is by donation at the door and refreshments, costing £3.50 per person, will be available.

The event will have a raffle and a prizegiving ceremony has been set for 4pm.

Transition Black Isle and Highland Community Waste Partnership are hosting a Repair Cafe this Saturday, from 1pm – 4pm. The event is open to anyone looking to repair clothes, bikes, and electrics. All repairers at the event are volunteers, and they ask that you bring one item, and any spare parts you may know are needed. There will also be coffee and cake.
