WATCH: Ness Factor's 2023 top fundraiser Liam Christie raised £12,000 for Highland Hospice

A Ness Factor finalist won the fundraising trophy for the contest last night after raising £12,000 for charity.

Liam Christie (53) from – who was back on the Drumossie Hotel's stage as contestant after hosting the event last year – was the top fundraiser this year.

Ness Factor – the Highland Hospice's own version of X Factor – saw a total £86,000 raised by the efforts of participants and on the night for organising charity Highland Hospice.

He said after the event: "I am absolutely ecstatic, it means so much to be part of this whole build up for this and to be part of the team.

"It has been an Hospice has been a kingpin to come together and raise money for Highland Hospice."

Mr Christie, who is not a newbie to the stage and who performed a cover of Sweet Home Chicago, said it felt great to perform in front of the audience.

"It was awesome," he said.

"I am not that shy, and a great singer myself, and surprised a few people that I can actually sing!

"I probably will be back to hosting, but I don't know about singing yet."
