Ullapool Bookshop to exclusively launch new book from best-selling author

Ullapool Bookshop is to exclusively launch a new novel from the author with the fastest-selling book in its 20-year history.

John McLellan is the acclaimed author of The Faultline, a best-selling debut novel set in the north-west Highlands. McLellan is now delighted to announce his new novel titled Unconformity, is launching on April 12 at Ullapool Bookshop.

While Unconformity is a standalone novel, readers of The Faultline will also enjoy some continuation of the characters and their journey in the new book. The story takes place over four summers in the Alps and across the north-west Highlands, featuring Loch Eriboll, Assynt and Torridon.

As the characters head off on a different and unprecedented paths, life will change for some of them. The novel is about friendships, affection and love. As well as this, the book follows the significance and discovery of a geological unconformity, not just as an important historical discovery but also as a metaphor for understanding a life.

The new novel is highly-anticipated after the great success of The Faultline, which sold over 1500 copies at Ullapool Bookshop alone.

Unconformity’s launch at Ullapool Bookshop on April 12 will begin at 5.30pm, with book signings and refreshments on offer.
