At the latest Resolis SWI, president, Allison Bisset treated attendees to an inspiring talk and picture show of her recent adventure. In October 2023 she participated in the Dalai Lama Trail, trekking through the hills of the Himalayas to raise funds for the Highland Hospice. Allison and her Highland Hospice party of 13 raised a massive £60,000 for Highland Hospice.

After significant training and fundraising, including the three peaks challenge, Great Wilderness Challenge, North Kessock Bridge zip line and catapult into the air over Loch Ness, they set off for Delhi.

After visiting the Dalai Lama’s temple, the group started the trek from Bhagsu Nag to Triund passing temples dotted all over the hillside and small villages with terraced farming in the steep hills. They climbed to the highest point of their trip, about 11,000 ft and Allison showed pictures of the most majestic snow-capped mountains with stunning sunrises and sunsets contrasting with pictures in Delhi of sacred cows and bulls wandering in the streets.
