A HARD-WORKING Ross-shire & Sutherland Federation SWI office bearer was thrust into the spotlight courtesy of her remarkable knitting talents.

Federation secretary Christine Pokernecki is well-known to many within the community organisation for her work behind the scenes helping events and shows run smoothly.

Christine entered an Evelyn Baxter Competition for knitting and finishing techniques.

The competition was open to members who had attended an Evelyn Baxter workshop on that topic.

Entries were judged and displayed at the National Conference at Perth this weekend. Christine came first and received a trophy for her efforts.

She is always a busy bee in one way or another but this weekend she has enjoyed the plaudits coming her way."

It went on: "Well done Christine and an excellent job and workmanship. Now we know where to come for guidance regarding finishing."
