A SMALL number of properties near Dingwall have been without electricity since the small hours of this morning.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) logged the outage at 1.58am and said it hopes to have all customers back up and running later this morning.

A small number of customers in the IV15 postcode area are affected.

Although it's understood that only seven homes are affected it covers a large area, says SSEN which has apologised for the inconvenience.

It has been put down to a fault on the overhead network, the most common type of fault usually seen.

But the firm says that due to "a busier than usual day all of our engineers are currently working on other faults".

It aims to have power restored by 10am.

The postcodes affected, it says are IV15 9TS and IV15 9TT.

An earlier power cut affected Wester Ross though now appears to have been resolved according to SSEN's powertrack app.
