AN Easter Ross angling club’s draw for a stint salmon fishing resulted in a day to remember for one lucky youngster.

Alness Angling Club held the draw from all the junior members. Robert Johnstone was selected for the free day’s fishing on the Coul beat of the River Conon.

Head ghillie John Macaskill offered expert tips. After instruction from John, Robert caught his first ever salmon on the fly from the Clach pool. It was described as “a fantastic day out and great memories”.
