Mountain rescuers in Sutherland have been continuing with a search for an Easter Ross man posted missing three months ago.

Finn Creaney (32) was last seen around 2.15pm on Friday, March 25 at Altnaharra in Sutherland near Loch Naver.

The Tain man was reported missing on March 28 and extensive searches have involved mountain rescue teams, family, friends and volunteers.

A Search for Finn Creaney Facebook page has posted details of areas covered in the subsequent search for the married father and a crowdfunding drive has raised over £6000 – double its initial target - to help fund continued searches across a wide area.

Meanwhile Assynt Mountain Rescue Team, which has carried out its own extensive searches for Mr Creaney, said this week that it is still looking for him.

During its efforts last Saturday it was called to assist a fallen walker on Quinag.

His wife Lucy, on the team's social media page, shared her gratitude. She posted: "Thank you for continuing the search for Finn Creaney, It means a lot to us! We are determined to get him home!"

The Assynt team meanwhile is starting to trial state-of-the-art outdoor wear provided by leading manufacturer, Helly Hansen.

The team, which covers one of the largest areas of the UK and operates in some of the harshest conditions, has received kit from the Norwegian specialist to test their clothing in the most extreme conditions across the next three years. It will provide detailed feedback which will may then be used to make any tweaks.
