BLACK ISLE-based singing supermarket delivery driver Liam Christie has added to his quirky series of lockdown hits with a fresh take on a country classic.

The events host and radio presenter took a job as a delivery driver for Tesco when the coronavirus lockdown put his own business temporarily on hold.

His love of putting a fresh spin on well-known toe-tappers and sharing them via social media has provided lockdown laughs for thousands of people as he puts a topical twist on singalong tunes.

To date these have reflected everything from supermarket delivery slots to the Dominic Cummings saga, courtesy of inspiration from the likes of Johnny Cash and The Proclaimers.

His latest, High-Vis Driver, takes liberties with the Glen Campbell worldwide hit, Rhinestone Cowboy.

The opening lines, "I've been driving these streets so long / Trying to find your home", reflects the current day job as he goes down country roads navigating sheep and discovering the limitations of sat-nav.

Mr Chrsitie has also found time to host an online Hoolie in the Highland with his wife Lorraine, pulling in viewers from across the world for a virtual event that saw performers of country and Irish music reach a global audience and raise £1200 for Highland Foodbank.
