AN EASTER Ross town which has shown great community spirit through the coronavirus crisis is celebrating with its first outdoor market in months this weekend.

Invergordon Development Trust is bringing the town market back to Natal Garden on Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Open air markets were permitted to reopen from July but the group was keen to give people time to adjust to the so-called new normal and to have space to find confidence in retail once again.

The IDT vice-chairwoman Sandra Munro said: "We will obviously be asking everyone to be mindful that social distancing rules will have to be adhered to at all times and we will have volunteers on hand with plenty of hand sanitiser to keep everyone a safe as possible.

"There will admittedly be a few less stalls than last year to give visitors to the market and traders more space, we have an amazing array of local produce and craft stalls, details of which can be found on IDT Facebook page where you will also find regular updates.

"We are really looking forward to seeing all our customers and traders again and hope that we can provide a little slice of normal in these strange and testing times."
