PUPILS at an Easter Ross primary school are being invited to take part in Halloween fun this week despite the impact of the coronavirus crisis.

With traditional door to door guising strongly discouraged this year because of coronavirus restrictions, a number of schools and communities are finding alternative ways to enjoy the spooky season.

Coulhill Primary and Nursery in Alness had planned a Halloween disco which now won't go ahead.

Instead, all children and staff are invited to dress up on the day, if they wish. The parent council has provided a goody bag for each child. Children can also enter a colouring competition on the day with a prize for each class.

The goody bags were dropped into school earlier this week so that they can be quarantined before giving to children on Friday.

The school said: "It is looking to be a spooktacular day!"
