SPOOKY goings-on will be entertaining all ages in Contin this Halloween.

The village's community council has announced a special Halloween Trail for October 31.

It is encouraging people to decorate their windows and gardens to "create a spooky trail for all to enjoy".

A number of local businesses are getting involved as well.

These include the Coffee Bothy, which will have a ghostly grotto with free toffee apples and witches' brew.

The Contin Village Store will have 30 free pumpkins available for local residents while stocks last.

And the Contin Filling Station will have "some ghoulish fun" on the forecourt.

Coul House Hotel is also running a pumpkin carving contest. Entries can be left in the "Scaries and Fairies Trail" on Halloween itself, with the winning entry announced on Facebook.

Contin Community Food Bank is also holding a children's Halloween poster competition, wit entries then being used to decorate the windows of the old hall.
