A COMMUNITY pet larder on the Black Isle has proved popular, prompting an appeal for more donations from well-wishers.

It was set up by local hotelier Jim Anderson in conjunction with the charity Black Isle Cares.

It is located next to a community food cupboard set up by BIC at the leisure centre in Fortrose.

Mr Anderson, who runs The Anderson in Fortrose, said it had "been more popular than we'd imagined".

He posted: "I'll be re-stocking but we could really use some donations if you have any extra food or snacks to hand!

"We have also had enquiries about cash donations – message me for options on how to do so."

He included a picture of a recent visitor: "Here's our dear friend, Freyr, making his 'bone-ation' last week. Thanks, old boy!

"If you do come by to drop off some things, bring your pets and send me a photo – maybe they'll be our next Fortrose Furry Philanthropist!"
