A DOG was blown over the edge of a steep slope on one of Ross-shire's iconic peaks today as its owner returned from the summit in poor conditions.
The drama unfolded around 1pm today when Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team (DMRT) was tasked by Police Scotland after the alarm was raised over a walker and their dog in difficulty on Ben Wyvis.
The walker was returning from the summit of the mountain in poor weather conditions when their dog was blown over the edge of a steep slope on An Cabar, a satellite summit of Ben Wyvis.

The walker was able to rescue the dog, which was unharmed.
Having then reported themselves to be lost and in difficulty, the casualty phoned Police Scotland.
Members of DMRT were able to make contact with the walker and subsequently escorted them and their dog to safety.
Neither was injured, the team confirmed later.
The drama unfolded amidst a period of unsettled weather with Storm Isha making way for Storm Jocelyn.
Team leader Iain Nesbitt later said: "I cannot over emphasise how important it is for anyone heading into the Scottish mountains at any time of year to be equipped with suitable clothing and safety equipment.
"It is also vital to carry a map and compass and to have the ability to use them."
