Dylan Smith will return to the Scotland Under-19s squad after being called up for a double header of friendly matches in Spain later this month.

The 17-year-old defender received his first call up to the older age group last month, having starred for the under-17s last season as they qualified for the European Championships.

Scotland's next opponents in Pinatar, Spain will be Ireland and Portugal on October 11 and 15 respectively.

It is good news for both Smith and Staggies fans, who have not been able to see the defender in action since he captained the national youth side against Czechia in September.

Smith was forced off early in the second half with an ankle injury, and has not played for his club in any of their four matches since.

However, he did return to the match day squad against Hearts last weekend, and has been deemed fit enough to link up with the national squad once again.
