Ross County have completed the signing of midfielder Max Sheaf from Redditch United for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old starred for the seventh-tier English outfit last season, playing every single one of their 54 matches in the 2022/23 campaign, scoring eight goals – including multiple free kicks – and claiming 18 assists.

Sheaf joined Redditch from Gloucester City, where he made 19 appearances and also spent a month on loan at Hungerford Town, playing seven times.

Before that, he had spent time in Arsenal's youth academy alongside brother Ben before completing his scholarship and making his senior debut at Hull City.

That milestone came after Sheaf suffered a fractured skull playing for a Hull XI against a Kenyan all-star team in February 2017.

While with the Tigers, he also spent time out on loan at Cheltenham Town and Torquay United.

Sheaf is Ross County's fourth signing ahead of the 2023/24 season, joining fellow midfield recruits Scott Allardice and Kyle Turner, and returning homegrown full back Josh Reid, in Dingwall.

Staggies manager Malky Mackay told the club's website: "I am delighted with the signing of Max, he comes to us on the back of a great season at Redditch.

"Our recruitment department identified him as a player of interest to us and he comes as another young hungry talent who wants to commit his future to Ross County FC."
