COMPERE Ian Simpson welcomed the audience and players to the first musical evening of 2024.
The guest band had travelled on a cold night from the Rogart area and the audience was treated to a real feast of music.
Leading on her three-row accordion, Georgie MacLennan was accompanied by her friend Caragh Gillott (fiddle), Monica MacLean (accordion), and Maggie Jamieson (drums). Christine Matheson from Dingwall played keyboard, as the young girl who normally plays was unable to be with them on this occasion.

Georgie is an extremely talented young girl who, as well as playing her accordion, gave a selection on the pipes and played fiddle for a lovely duet with Caragh. Georgie and Caragh, are both school pupils who have bright futures ahead. A spokeswoman for the club said: "Thank you, young and not quite so young girls, for sharing such a variety of well played music with an enthusiastic and appreciative audience."
Local players also got in on the act at the event at the town's Legion Club. Accordionists were Tom Cruickshank, James Corbett, Cammie MacLean, Susie Simpson, Donna Dingwall and Frankie Fraser. Gillian Stephenson and Audrey MacDonald played fiddles, Susie and Christine accompanied on keyboard and drummers were Martin MacLean and Maggie.
It was described as "another excellent night of music". Enthusiasts have the chance to meet again on February 7 when the club welcomes Martainn Skene.
