Wester Ross tearoom won't open for summer season in response to Covid-19 concerns

A WESTER Ross tearoom which has become a local hub as well as a visitor attraction has announced it won't open for the summer season.

Wester Loch Ewe Trust said the decision not to open the Old Inverasdale Schoolhouse Tearoom for the summer season had been made due to the current situation with Covid-19 and the necessary physical distancing measures and other government restrictions required and "to help keep our volunteers and community safe".

It said in a statement: "Everyone involved would like to thank our community and all our regular summer visitors for their support. We hope to welcome you all again soon, when circumstances permit - perhaps later in the year."

It said its application to the Sottish Government coronavirus business support fund was successful. and the grant of £10,000 "will help us with our overheads over the coming months".
