A FILM capturing the departure of a massive vessel that had become a familiar feature of a Wester Ross landscape has been shared.

The departure of Voyageur Spirit FPSO from Kishorn Port was an emotional moment for many at the yard following the cylindrical rig's arrival there in 2020.

It had been 'warm-stacked' – meaning machinery and systems are run regularly and checked within the dry dock – with the support of Kishorn's Port and Marine team. It was then moved and moored to the deep water quay adjacent to the dry dock gates before leaving on the heavy lift carrier, Xin Yao Hua, for future projects.

The appearance of Xin Yao Hua was a first for Kishorn Port being the largest vessel believed to have visited in its history.

The vessel was built in 2022 and has a dead weight of 81,798t and gross tonnage of 72,275t.

The whole process was carried out with the co-operation of all stakeholders and the marine team, with meticulous planning and safely delivered on time.

The vessel was bound for Dubai.
