Police issued an on the spot fine after the two-vehicle collision near Tain

Traffic is now flowing normally after a two-vehicle collision on a stretch of the A9 near Tain earlier today.

There were no casualties and one driver was fined after the incident.

The Inverness to Thurso road was restricted in both directions just after 2pm near the A9’s junction with the B9174, near Asda.

Police attended and confirmed before the road was fully reopened to traffic at 4.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on the A9 Tain bypass, around 2.14pm on Thursday, September 28.

“Two people were checked by the Scottish Ambulance Service at the scene.

“One driver was issued with a fixed penalty notice.”
