Lines incorrectly marked on a busy Easter Ross road have been removed after alarm bells were raised by motorists this past week.

The road markings, which were drawn on Shore Road in Tain, had been the cause of some panic in the town after the error left road users unsure over the right of way.

Lines directing cars over the railway bridge have been removed.

The remarking took place last week after extensive resurfacing work on Shore Road during the summer.

But a mishap in marking lines on the road had left traffic flowing over the railway bridge which leads to Tain Links playing fields. The road had usually followed right towards Tain railway station and Tesco superstore.

It is understood that the leading markings have now been removed and work continues today to restore the layout of the previous markings.
