Heavy snow in Highlands prompts BEAR Scotland roads warning as gritters treat affected areas

DRIVERS are being urged to exercise caution on the roads this morning with some areas affected by snow and ice and a number of schools on Highland Council's closure list.

BEAR Scotland, which manages and maintains the North West Trunk Road Unit on behalf of Transport Scotland, said this morning that gritters are out treating routes and dealing with snow.

Members of its operational team are witnessing heavy snow across the area this morning.

It has asked drivers to take care and stay safe.
