SCHOOLS: Bad weather disrupts prelims at Gairloch High in Wester Ross as snow takes its toll

THE weather has disrupted prelims at a Wester Ross secondary which has been affected by bad weather today.

There will be no school transport to Gairloch High School today due to poor road conditions.

The area has been hit by heavy snow showers and a Met Office weather warning for snow and ice is in place until Wednesday morning.

The school posted: "Due to poor road conditions there will be no school transport today."

It said the school will be open to pupils and staff, adding: "Please only travel if it is safe to do so.

"Prelims for today will be organised for a later date.

"Take care and stay safe."

Gairloch Primary is also "partially closed" due to the same reason.

Lochinver Primary in Sutherland is on Highland Council's school closure list this morning with severe road conditions cited.

Broadford Primary is closed due to bad weather.
