A ROSS-SHIRE primary school will be expanding the range of support offered to parents and the community thanks to a new initiative.
Dingwall Primary is now working in partnership with midwives and health visitors to further develop its baby bank.
The initiative, which was launched by the school in August to support families thought the cost of living crisis, is now part of the registered UK National Baby Bank List.
Head teacher Sara Macaskill was very thankful for the job carried out by baby bank coordinator Eilidh Mellon.
Mrs Macaskill said: "Mrs Mellon and I are both equally passionate about supporting families. As mams ourselves we are proud of Dingwall Primary’s efforts to support our community and Dingwall’s newborns to help give them the very best start in life!
"Mrs Mellon runs and manages the baby bank, liaising with the health visitors and midwives to make sure that all families in the community know about the Baby Bank and can also provide delivery of items.
"She has also been working in partnership with the Shandwick knitting group who have provided us with beautiful baby blankets, toys and hats.
"She gives up much of her own time to organise the baby bank and open it out of school times for parents to access."
