A ROSS-SHIRE primary school will be welcoming families in need of support next week as they open a new support space next week.

Dingwall Primary will be opening its baby bank to the public next Wednesday, with the last donations coming in until Friday.

Families will be able to get to the school to collect baby essentials like nappies and baby wipes.

Although a time schedule for the baby bank has not yet been confirmed, those interested can get in touch directly and more updates will be shared by the school on Facebook via the Dingwall Community Notice Board and the school's own channels.

Teacher Eilidh Mellon, who will be running the baby bank, said this is a great opportunity for the school to do more for the community.

She said: "We are really happy to finally put this out and we hope the baby bank will help many of our local families.

"Although we don't have a fix schedule yet, we think that after we start we will see how we can better serve the people who might be in need of those items.

"We are really grateful to SPAR for the generous donations and to anyone who has contributed. We will be closing to donations after Friday so we can make sure we will be able to better allocate those we have got so far.

"In terms of donations, we are really looking more at those items which are normally not easily passed on or shared within the community such as nappies and toiletries.

"We have a lot of toys and other items as well which will be available at the family centre.

The baby bank is part of the school's new family centre, which opened this summer.
