A WALKER injured while descending a ridge sparked another call-out for a Ross-shire mountain rescue team.

Kintail MRT volunteers were scrambled following an appeal for assistance from Police Scotland to assist a casualty who had sustained an injury while descending from the South Cluanie Ridge.

A team was assembled and went to assess the casualty's injuries and provide first aid and pain relief.

Other team members followed closely behind to assist with the stretcher carry to the roadside where they were met by the Scottish Ambulance service.

The team was stood down at 9pm.

Wishing the casualty a speedy recovery, the team posted: "June is shaping up to be yet another busy month for call-outs, with the fine weather bringing people to the hills."

The Highland Cross team posted: "On Saturday teams from Kintail MRT will be looking after participants as they cross the first section of the route from Morvich, over the watershed and onto Camban.

"True friends of Highland Cross we are proud that they choose to support our event.

"Participants take your safety gear and carry some fluid with you on the hill. We have lots of water points but it is going to be a warm year..."
