A ROSS-SHIRE medical practice has acknowledged the frustration of some patients awaiting Covid vaccinations and appealed for patience while it awaits supplies.

Kyle Medical Practice says it now vaccinating its highest risk patients, as identified by the GPs, amongst its 70 to 74 year-old patients.

But it warns that is is restricted at present by the number of doses being supplied to the practice.

It said in a social media post this morning: "We know it is frustrating waiting for your vaccines – but we have 250 patients in these groups and we are only getting sent very small amounts each week – only 72 doses this week.

"We will get the rest of these two groups vaccinated over the next fortnight. You have not been forgotten about –we will get to you. This is purely a vaccine supply issue – if we had been sent larger volumes we would have been delighted to get you all vaccinated at the same time.

"If you have not been contacted yet, I can assure you that you are on the list and we will get you vaccinated over the next two weeks. Please do not phone the practice as this puts extra pressure on the reception staff who are already under a lot of pressure at the moment.

"Thank you, we really appreciate your understanding."
