A ROSS-SHIRE business has toasted the success of an auction of a one-off collector's item that provided a welcome boost for two charities.

The Grand Whisky Auction Limited (TGWA), an Easter Ross-based bespoke online auction house specialising in limited edition and rare whiskies, worked with Leicestershire-based premium craft gin distiller, Brentingby Gin on the project.

The gin specialist made a bespoke Swarovski crystal-encrusted 700ml bottle of their London Dry Gin in aid of NHS Charities Together and the Matt Hampson Foundation.

The glittering, eye-catching bottle attracted a hefty winning bid of £1275.

Jane Manson of TGWA, based near Invergordon, said: "The bottle achieved a great price at auction and this will go towards helping such wonderful charities provide their services in these difficult times."

More than 5000 Swarovski crystals were encrusted on the bottle to give Brentingby Gin a true one-off.

Brentingby Gin founder, Bruce Midgely, said: “I wanted to not only highlight our London Dry offering but I also wanted to create one of the best-looking bottles on the market. This bottle definitely stands out from the crowd and has enabled us to be creative and has given us the capacity to produce something positive in these unprecedented times. It has been a focal point in helping us to keep positive and to be resilient when there is so much negativity out there.”

All the proceeds of the auction will go to the Matt Hampson Foundation, set up to inspire and support young people seriously injured through sport and to the NHS Charities Together a collective experience representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS' official charities.
