A ROSS-SHIRE business is at the centre of an exclusive global online auction which could result in one of the most expensive bottles of gin ever sold.

The Grand Whisky Auction Limited (TGWA) is an Easter Ross-based bespoke online auction house specialising in limited edition and rare whiskies.

TGWA is working with Leicestershire-based premium craft gin distiller, Brentingby Gin, which has made a bespoke Swarovski crystal-encrusted 700ml bottle of their London Dry Gin in aid of NHS Charities Together and the Matt Hampson Foundation.

Working and collaborating online with accredited Swarovski craft stoner, Black Swan Embellishment to apply the approximately 5-6,000 crystals and utilising their skills as a craft distiller, Brentingby Gin were able to produce something that is a true one-off.

"We are delighted to be working with Bruce and the Brentingby team on such a special project and what could potentially be one of the most expensive bottles of gin ever sold." - Jane Manson

Brentingby Gin founder, Bruce Midgely, explained: “I wanted to not only highlight our London Dry offering but I also wanted to create one of the best-looking bottles on the market. This bottle definitely stands out from the crowd and has enabled us to be creative and has given us the capacity to produce something positive in these unprecedented times. It has been a focal point in helping us to keep positive and to be resilient when there is so much negativity out there.”

All the proceeds of the auction will go to the Matt Hampson Foundation, set up to inspire and support young people seriously injured through sport and to the NHS Charities Together a collective experience representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS' official charities.

TGWA, based in the Invergordon area, promises an exceptional personalised service and value to clients and associates. It is surrounded by world-leading distilleries and fields of malting barley used to make whisky.

Jane Manson, director at The Grand Whisky Auction, said: "We are delighted to be working with Bruce and the Brentingby team on such a special project and what could potentially be one of the most expensive bottles of gin ever sold."

The reserve on the bottle is £1200.

Distilled and bottled in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, the Brentingby London Dry gin that is up for auction is not only distinctively impressive but it is a juniper dominant gin, which is equally at home in a G&T as it is in a cocktail, featuring botanicals inspired from the hedgerows, Bruce’s South African heritage and the great British countryside surrounding the distillery.
