A GENEROUS response to a Wester Ross appeal to help keep public toilets open will come as a relief to visitors to the area.

Gairloch and Loch Ewe Action Forum (GALE) said today that Aultbea's public toilets are now open again thanks to generous offers of help from many local people and groups.

Those include Aultbea Men's Shed and Aultbea Community Council "as well as our fantastic new cleaner Samantha Cann".

GALE said: "The loos are dependent on donations to keep them open.

"They currently cost around £10 per day to run. So far we've raised enough funds to keep them open until March 2021."

It said: "Please help us keep them open for longer by making a donation."
