Police reopen Highland capital High Street after earlier unexplained incident

A section of Inverness High Street which was temporarily blocked off by police has reopened.

UPDATE: High Street re-opened after gun claim

The pedestrian area was cordoned by two lines of officers at either end of the street, from around CEX to McDonald's earlier this afternoon.

Shop staff and customers were evacuated from some stores and café premises.

Police Scotland was asked earlier what prompted the action.

It is also not yet known what other activity police did in the area.
