THERE's plenty of room at the inn on Christmas Day so far as an Easter Ross initiative is concerned.

In the spirit of giving and community, Capstone Christian Centre in Alness is set to host a heart-warming Christmas dinner on December 25 at noon.

Reverend Iain MacAskill, the visionary behind the initiative, believes that this event will bring joy and comfort to those who may be facing challenges during the holiday season.

Capstone Christian Centre has been actively fostering community connections through its Cafe Connect program since August.

The program, which offers free beverages and baked goods, has become a hub for locals to gather and enjoy both food and friendship in a safe and welcoming environment.

Reverend MacAskill expressed the desire to extend this hospitality by organising a free Christmas dinner, especially considering the recent surge in food costs.

Rev Iain MacAskill: 'With the rising food costs, we felt it was our responsibility to open our doors wider and offer a warm meal to those who might benefit from it.'

He explained: "We've seen a positive reaction from the community since the inception of Cafe Connect, and we wanted to do something special for Christmas. With the rising food costs, we felt it was our responsibility to open our doors wider and offer a warm meal to those who might benefit from it."

The theme of the event is Plenty of Room at the Inn, emphasizing the inclusivity and generosity that Christmas embodies. Capstone Christian Centre welcomes anyone in need of a warm and comforting meal to join the celebration. The centre says it aims to make this Christmas a memorable and joyous occasion for all, keeping in mind that Jesus is the reason for the season. It said: "Let the spirit of love and generosity shine bright this holiday at Capstone Christian Centre."
