Players from Ross County Football Club have come together to show their support for Blythswood's nation-wide appeal.

2023 is the 30th anniversary of Blythswood Care’s Shoe Box Appeal which has received more than 2.5 million boxes over the years.

Filled with small practical items such as toiletries, stationery, and clothing, the individually-wrapped boxes are distributed across Eastern Europe in schools, hospitals, orphanages, care homes and to households in very low-income communities.

Steven Ferguson, chief executive officer of Ross County said: ‘‘Everyone at Ross County is proud to support the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal, it is a very worthy cause that we are all behind. We encourage everyone to get involved if you can, to help make the Christmas special for those less fortunate than us. Blythswood do a fantastic job in the organisation and logistics of this and we know how much it means to those who receive gifts as a result.”

Jack Baldwin, club captain, was delighted to welcome Blythswood in to the stadium. Jack said: “Blythswood do some amazing work, and even though times are tough, any donation helps.”

Last year the appeal recieved nearly 89,000 gift-filled boxes being delivered to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania and Serbia, as well as to people in Ukraine who are displaced from their homes by war.
