The Lochalsh Junior Pipe Band took to the Kyle pier to pipe in the “magnificent” paddle steamer, which was built in 1946.

The band even played a happy birthday tune for one of the Waverly passengers.
Lochalsh Junior Pipe Band said: “Great night down at Kyle pier welcoming the Waverley back after its evening cruise. The weather and midges were kind to us.
“It was lovely to see so many happy people coming off the boat, and the folk watching the band and the magnificent Waverley sailing into Kyle.”
The highly-anticipated visit from the historic steamship has seen her sail into multiple west coast communities during her annual trip to Oban and the Hebrides – including Gairloch, Ullapool and Kyle.
Captain of the Waverly, Dominic McCall previously explained that the Waverley’s sailing programme was further developed this year, following the outstand support received last year.
