THE return of the Tour de Maryburgh was cause for celebration in itself for young cyclists living in and around the Ross-shire community.

With Gala Week now in full swing – leading up to Saturday's big Gala Day – the popular cycle event saw schoolchildren from P1 right through to P7 given a chance to go through their paces.

It's one of many events lined up for the week.

Gala organisers praised all the children who took part, dubbing them "all awesome".

They also thanked parents for cheering them on and for marshals ensuring a safe event. They said: "We couldn't have done it without you."
