FROM environmental protests taking place in the year of the COP26 global climate conference in Glasgow to Ross-shire’s own sporting heroes getting out and about, there was a lot going on in 2021.

Before the omicron variant of Covid-19 raised its head, there were even times when it seemed life was getting back to something more like normal with larger public gatherings back on the agenda.

As we all hope for better times to come, here are just a few of the outstanding images taken by our talented team of photographers to accompany some of the hundreds of stories we covered across the RJ’s patch in the last 12 months.

As we start to slowly get into the swing of 2022, just a reminder that we are always more than happy to hear from readers about any events you are involved with and would like to see us give some coverage to, both in advance and on the day itself. Feel free to contact us at newsdesk@hnmedia.co.uk at any time of the year.

And all the best for 2022, whatever it may bring!
