FROM a leading politician’s wedding to local businesses opening and, sadly closing, alongside inspiring charity fundraising events and good old simple fun times, there was a lot going on in 2021.

The spectre of coronavirus overshadowed much but not everything, as the pages of our titles proved week in, week out.

Here are just a few of the outstanding images taken by our talented team of photographers to accompany some of the hundreds of stories we covered in the last 12 months.

As we get into the swing of 2022, we are always happy to hear from readers about any events you are involved with and would like to see us cover.

Feel free to contact us at newsdesk@hnmedia.co.uk at any time of the year.

And all the best for 2022!
