ROSS County fans venturing in to the club’s Dingwall Stadium last Saturday came face-to-face with a very familiar figure – Santa Claus.

He was in town to head up a grotto for children attending the second Christmas market to be staged by the club in the past few weeks.

Highland Hospice got the benefit of profits from the grotto, while hundreds of visitors had a chance to browse local traders’ stalls dotted throughout the rest of the stadium.

The club’s Lorraine Christie said: “There were lots of happy children as they managed a chat with Santa.”

She said the success of the two market day events held recently could pave the way for other events at the stadium.

Karen Duff of the hospice thanked everyone for their support.
