A FAMILIAR festive figure was on the ball when he swung by Ross County FC's Global Energy Stadium this week to tee up a very special Christmas market.

More than 1000 people attended last month's event and next Saturday's promises to be a Christmas cracker.

Commercial manager Lorraine Christie said the December 12 market, from 10am to 4pm, will boast 32 stalls and a Santa's grotto for Highland Hospice.

Hospice fundraiser Emma Nicol said: “We are delighted to be returning to Ross County’s Christmas market. After the success of the last one we are excited to bring Santa’s Grotto and invite children to pop along for a magical visit."

Covid-safe grotto visits are £5 per child including a gift from Santa. Profits will be donated to Highland Hospice.
