NEIGHBOURS and friends showed their love for a very special Dingwall woman on her 90th birthday this week.

Jessie Harrow, of the county town’s Ferry Road, is well-known for her cheerful demeanour and glorious garden, a welcoming sight to folk walking past towards the salmon bothy.

Despite her advanced years, she does much of the work herself.

Friends decided it was the perfect spot for a party and to make it extra special members of the Michelle and Aileen Wilson School of Dance dropped by.

Friend Laura Calder said: “It was a beautiful day. Jessie is always cheery and happy and is really well known locally and speaks to people as they walk by.

“She has a love of all things Highland, including tartan and pipe music and so really enjoyed the dancing display.”

She said: “Jessie is probably one of the few people in town who only needs one name.”

Dancers including Anna and Penny Calder, Holly and Heather Morrison and Grace Schofield were repaying a debt of gratitude having used Jessie’s garden to learn during the lockdown.
