A POTENTIALLY life-changing roadshow offering people with unpaid caring roles an insight into help and support available has already made a big impression in Ross-shire.

The carers' roadshow made its first visit to Ross-shire with a stop in Alness at the Perrin's Centre.

Ross and Cromarty Lord-Lieutenant Joanie Whiteford supported the first in a series raising awareness about what is available to people with unpaid caring roles.

"It was a terrific turnout from both professionals and carers", said Lori Mackellar, administration officer for the Highland Carers Roadshow for NHS Highland.

Chris McInnes from Partners In Advocacy - who took the photos on the day - agreed.

"It was a great day all round. One of the carers I spoke with said how much she had enjoyed herself and that she'd found out about services she didn't know existed before," said Chris King of Creativity In Care.

The event, hosted by local community interest company Creativity In Care, was a great success with a good turn out and plenty of chatter and information exchanges between families and services.

Representatives were there from Thriving Families, Connecting Communities, Whole Family Support, Citizens Advice Bureau, Connecting Young Carers, Connecting Carers, Befrienders Highland, Creativity In Care, Partners In Advocacy and NHS Highland Carer Development Services.
