AN intense weekend of top level training witnessing more twists and turns than a snake in a maze saw an aspiring group of Ross-shire gymnasts put through their paces ahead of a major qualifying competition.

Fyrish Gymnastics Club hosted the event at its state-of-the-art facility in Alness with a little help from some good friends from Denmark.

Kasper and Maria are old friends of Heidi, who is also originally from Denmark. Faith Macleod, lead coach for Teamgym at Fyrish Gymnastics Club, said: “We have two teams who will take part.

“They have been coming over now for five years and are almost like extended family! There’s a real level of trust that builds up.It was a chance to work on stuff we think they need for the competition. It’s like that final push.”
