Dramatic pictures highlighting the impact Storm Gerrit is having on the Highlands' road network have been released by Bear Scotland.
The A82 was closed north of Fort William on Wednesday morning after the gales – which could hit up to 80mph – brought down a lot of trees.
And heavy snows have brought near-whiteout conditions to parts of the A9 in the area of the Drumochter Pass, as gritters work tirelessly to try to keep the road open – with Bear urging motorists to delay their journey "if possible".
The winds have also been causing havoc to electrical supplies in communities up and down the Great Glen, with well over 1000 homes hit by outages in the area around Drumnadrochit.
Transport links have also been badly affected, with a number of cancellations to ScotRail services, and several ferry sailings in the Minch also suspended.
And now Bear Scotland has highlighted the carnage its teams have been having to deal with to try to keep roads open.
Posting on Twitter about the A82 closure, the BEAR NW Trunk Roads account said: "Fort William, Inverlochy near Ben Nevis Hotel. Police Scotland have closed the road due to fallen trees and lighting column. BEAR teams are assisting."
And in a post they made shortly before 10.30am about snow in Drumochter, they added: "A9 Drumochter, Heavy snow on Drumochter, we currently have six gritters in the area. Delay your journey if possible."
