COUNTRY music fans from across the Highlands and beyond converged on the Black Isle Showground at the weekend for a drive-in show that allowed fans a fix of live music while adhering to coronavirus restrictions.

The drive-in show featured a stellar line-up of Irish country music stars enjoyed by audience members from the safety of their car or family "bubble".

Organiser Liam Christie said the sell-out show saw a "responsible and happy crowd" enjoy the music in the glorious late summer weather.

He said: "We are delighted with the support for these events and with no future date on the horizon for full face to face events, these shows look like they will be the only safe and responsible way to see live music for some time to come.Police Scotland were on site to ensure there were no rule breaches and everyone attending embraced the rules and had a great time."

He thanked attendees, artistes, volunteers, staff, Highland Council, emergency services and safety officer David O' Connor for his guidance.

He said: "We hope to return with another show soon but will depend on any changes to the coronavirus guidelines."
