AN atmospheric old railway station played host to a Christmas carnival that helped a Ross-shire village set the scene for the festive season.
The Christmas Carnival hosted by the Highland Museum of Childhood in Strathpeffer offered a chance for locals and visitors alike to enjoy some games and take part in a special quest.
Hosted outside at the village's Old Station – which is also home to the Museum of Childhood – the event offered visitors the chance to meet The Grinch as well as try their hand at carnival games and attempt to find a very special rainbow bauble in the museum itself.
Museum curator/manager Morven MacDonald said afterwards: "It was very good. We had a lot of visitors from all over Ross-shire and Inverness too. It was nice to see families coming from a lot further afield looking for something to do. We are very lucky at the station to have an outdoor area which is also covered to make it a Covid-safe environment."
The event was a fundraiser for the museum with games such as Santa Hoopla proving popular with children.
Ms MacDonald added: "It's also a nice way to get a new audience into the museum."
At the moment it opens Thursday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm and from noon to 4pm on Sundays.
Christmas shopping was also available in the Small Planet Trading and the museum gift shop.
