PICTURES: What a tonic! Students and staff at UHI Inverness welcome therapets

Students and staff at UHI Inverness welcomed a group of canine visitors to the campus.

Pippin and four of his pals called in at the atrium as part of a service run by Therapets.

Volunteers with the scheme, managed by Canine Concern Scotland Trust, have visited the campus for several years as part of the wellbeing support offered to students and this was their first visit of this year.

The five dogs proved to be a great success with many students and staff taking time to stop and pet them during their lunch break.

Dogs are known for their therapeutic qualities and it has been scientifically proven that stroking an animal can slow down heartbeat and reduce blood pressure.

Information leaflets about exam preparation and support for students, as well as worksheets about mental health, were also available in the atrium during the visit.
