An aerial photograph showing work underway to create 140 new homes in an Easter Ross community has been released.

The project by the Highland Council and Highland Housing Alliance (HHA) is being constructed in several phases in Evanton starting with 40 affordable units.

The image, taken by Adrian Meek, shows the first stage of development at the Teandallon site that will provide 18 homes for council rent, 16 homes for mid-market rent and six homes for "low-cost home ownership".

The project is due to be completed by the end of 2022 and notes of interest for the six homes for sale are welcomed. They are being marketed by Highland Residential. Information on eligibility can be obtained by emailing them at LIFT@highlandresidential.co.uk

Funding support has been gained through Scottish Government grant and the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal.

Highland Council said today the development "is an exciting project involving both the public and private sector", with the tender being awarded to Compass Building & Construction Services.

The bird’s-eye view of the site "shows the impressive progress made to date and allows people to see the site shaping up".

Chairperson of Highland Council’s economy and infrastructure committee, Councillor Trish Robertson, said: “The new housing will be of a very high standard and will help to meet the growing needs of the community, so it is good to see work on site progress.”

HHA will be offering 16 homes for mid-market rent, which will include both two- and three-bedroom homes.
