The takeaway hit the headlines after offensive behaviour by its previous owner in the wake of the Queen's death.

The notorious Jaki's Fish and Chip Shop in Muir of Ord has reopened.

In the immediate aftermath of the death of Queen Elizabeth II last month a video was posted on the shop's Facebook page showing a staff member popping champagne and holding up a sign reading: "Lizard Liz Dead and London Bridge has fallen".

As well as drawing negative comments online angry crowds also gathered outside the shop itself to protest.

Owner Jaki Pickett said she had "no regrets" about the video but the shop's window was smashed when the premises reopened after the incident, and it had remained closed since September 10.

Now a sign has appeared in the window reading: "As of Friday 21st October Jaki's Chip Shop will be under new management. Please welcome Kerry who has now taken over. Thank you for your 10 years custom and I wish Kerry all the best."

Online, new owner Kerry Paterson said she looked forward to providing the village with a chippy once more and added "Jaki will not be part of the business or have anything to do with it".

She said: "I am leasing the shop from her. I'm starting out and would appreciate the support from the community."
