A mobile Post Office service started in Conon Bridge yesterday to maintain service.

The community has been added to the new mobile Post Office service that started last month.

The operator for Conon Bridge has resigned and the CJ Lang premises at Station Road, Conon Bridge were withdrawn for Post Office use last Thursday.

The service, provided by the postmaster for Dingwall, will operate twice a week in Conon on a Tuesday from 3–4pm and Thursday from 9.15am to 10.15am.

It stops in the car park in the High Street, Conon Bridge.

Other full-time Post Offices in the area are at 40 High Street, Dingwall and on Great North Road, Muir of Ord.

The Post Office said that a mobile service is a tried and tested way to serve smaller communities.

David Duff, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We know how important a Post Office is to a community. We are delighted to providing a temporary mobile service to Conon bridge whilst we continue to look for a permanent solution.”
