A new mobile post office will provide a service for customers in Conon Bridge after existing provision in the village comes to an end next week.

The operator for Conon Bridge has resigned and the CJ Lang premises in Station Road will close on Thursday October 7 at 3pm.

As a temporary measure, a mobile service will start on Tuesday October 12 at 3pm.

It will be provided by the postmaster for Dingwall and will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays between 3pm and 4pm and on Thursdays between 9.15am and 10.15am.

It will stop in the car park in the High Street in Conon Bridge.

It joins other the new mobile service which started in the Inverness area last month.

Other full-time offices in the area are at Dingwall Post Office in High Street and Muir of Ord Post Office in Great North Road.

David Duff, of Post Office Network Provision, said: "We know how important a post office is to a community.

"We are delighted to providing a temporary mobile service to Conon bridge whilst we continue to look for a permanent solution."
